Allan O'Keefe

Allan O’Keefe is a (10) year law enforcement officer with the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office. During his tenure his assignments include patrol, street level narcotics and crime prevention until being promoted to the rank of Detective. He was then assigned to the Internal Affairs Bureau, where he served as the lead investigator for all criminal and administrative investigations. After completing this assignment Allan was transferred to the Intelligence Unit where he worked in an undercover capacity.

Allan was selected to become a member of the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office Crisis Negotiations Team, holding the position for six (6) years. He has responded to numerous volatile barricaded suicide, suspect and hostage situations requiring specially trained negotiators to resolve the crisis, holding all positions within the Crisis Incident.  He has attended multiple courses surrounding Crisis Intervention (CRIT), Hostage Negotiations, Suicide and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. In 2010, he was selected to attend and graduated from the Federal Bureau of Investigations two (2) week National Crisis Negotiations Course in Quantico, Virginia. Additionally, Allan has traveled throughout the world teaching the skill set of Hostage Negotiations, Crisis Management, Conflict Resolution and Peer Support.

Allan is a member of the Florida Association of Hostage Negotiators. He was elected by the membership as a Regional Director for two (2) years. He was then appointed as the state wide Training Director and was subsequently elected to the position of Vice-President. After serving for two years as Vice President, Allan was elected to become the President and represents the Florida Association of Hostage Negotiators as a state delegate to the National Council of Negotiator Associations.

Prior to entering the Law Enforcement community, Allan served four (4) years in the United States Marine Corps. He was assigned to the White House traveling throughout the United States and abroad with the President of the United States. Additionally, Allan holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of South Florida and a Master’s degree from Saint Leo University.
